Summer Camp FAQ!

  1. When is pickup/drop-off? How do I sign up for after/before care?
    1. Drop-Off is from 8:30am-8:50am. Pickup is from 3:45pm-4:00pm. We offer before care from 7am-8:30am, and after care from 4pm-5pm for an extra $10/camper/day. A small snack is provided. This must be pre-registered for.
  2. Where do I go to drop/pick my camper up?
    1. When arriving at the club (6167 White Lake Rd), drive back around near the glasshouse pool. Park in the rear parking lot, and walk through the green gate straight into the building! The camp room is straight through the double glass doors on the right! There will be summer camp signs directing you as well!
  3. What if a friend or grandparent is going to pick up my camper, how do I add them as a pickup adult?
    1. If anyone other than the parent/guardian is picking the camper up, they must be added as an authorized pickup adult. To do this, log into the Parent Portal and click “Add Temporary Pickup Adult”. The pickup adult must bring their ID when picking up.
  4. What is the camper to counselor ratio?
    1. We have a minimum staff to camper ratio of 1:10. To ensure the safety of campers, we have extra staff members and have an average ratio of 1:6. We only take 50 campers/day.
  5. I have different aged campers, will they be separated from each other?
    1. At the beginning of each camp day, campers will be separated into pairs, or groups of three. These smaller pairs/groups will be put into a larger group. This is used for lunch, attendance tracking, and group activities. While the groups are normally all together, siblings/friends who want to be in the same group should pick each other as their partner for the day.
  6. How do you make sure the campers are safe when they swim?
    1. Summer camp swims before the outdoor pool is open to members, so campers are the only ones in the pool area. In addition to our lifeguards, one staff member is in the water with the campers, and the remaining sit around the edge of the pool monitoring the campers behavior.
  7. Why does my camper need to take a swim test? What if they aren’t a very strong swimmer and can’t pass it?
    1. Our pool is a zero-depth walk-in pool, meaning it starts at 0’, and gradually goes to 4’ deep. The swim test is required to go into the water deeper than 2.5’, or down the waterslide. If the camper does not pass/take the swim test, they may bypass the test if they bring and wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejacket.
  8. What if my camper doesn’t like what the lunch options are?
    1. If your camper does not like the lunch options for that day, please pack them a lunch. We are able to accommodate dietary restrictions, but can’t change options due to meal option preferences.
  9. What happens if it is raining, do the campers still get to swim?
    1. In the event there is no thunder/lightning/storm, and just light rain, we try to swim in the indoor glasshouse pool, as long as there are no fitness classes taking place. If there is a thunder/lightning/storm, we are unable to swim in any of the pools, and try to adjust our swim time to the afternoon if possible.
  10. Is my camper allowed to bring a phone/smart watch/electronic devices?
    1. We are an electronics free camp, and do not allow campers to use electronic devices throughout the day. We understand that you may want your camper to bring a phone/smart watch to communicate with during the day, but we ask you rather have your camper communicate through us if needed. Camp staff may take devices away from campers if using them for other purposes than communicating with a parent/guardian.
  11. Is my camper allowed to bring toys/stuffed animals?
    1. We do not allow campers to bring toys from home, as they are prone to getting lost/misplaced during the day. We also do not want the toys/stuffed animals to get damaged during camp.
  12. Do you offer swimming or tennis lessons?
    1. We do not offer swimming or tennis lessons as part of the camp day, but the athletic club does offer swim and tennis lessons separate from camp. If there is a tennis/swim lesson during the camp day, we can take them to/from that lesson, but they will miss out on the camp activities during that time.
  13. What is a pro staff member?
    1. A pro staff member is a camp director, assistant director, or health officer. They are all over 18 years of age, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, and have the ability to receive/administer medications. They are in charge of camper discipline and are the staff members that may contact you if needed. There are at least two pro-staff members working during the camp day.
  14. Is it worth it to get the summer membership?
    1. The summer membership is a great option for all families, especially those that send multiple children to camp, or attend a large number of camp days. The summer membership allows for full membership benefits from Memorial Day - Labor Day, which includes member pricing on camp. Oftentimes, the savings from getting the member rate instead of the non-member rate on camp fees pays for the summer membership fee with some additional savings too! Many camp families coordinate nights to swim after camp, and the summer membership is a great way to go about it!
  15. What if my camper is sick or doesn’t feel good, can they get a refund?
    1. We do not refund camp days due to camper sickness, but we are able to transfer 75% of the paid camp fee towards another camp day in the future, pending availability.
